Hiya all. I'm sure that most of you remember the song "Lucky Man" by The Verve. Right at the very end of the track, just after the actual song, there is a "sound" for a few seconds. Now, I don't know what it is with me, but whenever I hear that sound, I feel like bursting into tears and actually have on several occasions. Anybody know what I mean? Anyone else have a similar "aural trigger" that lasts a short amount of time but makes you feel like you are made of sadness? Or the other way around? Quite often when listening to the intro to Kula Shaker's "Shower Your Love On Me" I feel my soul rising and I tingle from head to toe. Is this just me? I'm not talking about songs, but just snippets of sound that have such a huge effect on my being.
yeah in Aqualung's "extraordinary thing" its piano and voice all the way through apart from where it pauses and there's a tiny sound like a rusty weathervane moving.... THERE
i hear music in peoples voice and i hear it in other music, it sorta trips off the actual notes that are ben played. its more of an invisible rythm actually, if that makes any sence. i hear it really loudly when i smoke weed and it usually makes me laugh or dance, or both. im guessing its my internal music or summin, hopfully itll be unlocked when i die and thats what ill use to travel thru the universes on. but if theres more then one then they aint uni, and become verses instead. maybe were living inside a tune.
I love bits of songs like that..where you just geel almost part of the song..just a snippet of sound manages to transform the way youre feeling in a second man i love music..
The first few notes of "From the Morning" make me feel hugely happy and crushingly sad at the same time. Then again, most of Nick Drake does that to me.
'First Day of my Life' by Bright Eyes holds a sentimental feeling for me.. reminds me of a few of the people I love... always brings a tear. It sorta sounds like the last day of his life... but the words are just.. WOW!
Quite often when my girlfriend says "shower your love on me", I feel myself rising and end up tingling from head to toe
There are small parts of songs I can think of that do this, but it also has something to do with the build up. I'm not sure if that counts Either way, check out New York City Serenade by Broooooooce

Glad I caught this one... Many a Springsteen song gets me wrapped up emotionally...its hard not to get involved in the stories he tells and the ambiance/atmosphere he creates in his songs has never been matched.... His guitar solos do that to me...he may not be that technical, but the effort he puts into them and the sound he wrings out of it is beautiful, always gets the adrenaline rushing round... music is kinda like a drug like that
i love the levellers ....the album levelling the land...the song that does it for me is many too many by genesis.gets me every time
