Half my friends are newfies. I'm a Cape Bretoner, basically same accent and lifestyle (except I've lost my accent...).
We are moving to Stephenville Crossing next July(wish it was now but have to get everything together and settled here first). Spent a month travelling the whole island this summer. Drove through Cape breton. Pretty. I know I feel a lot safer when it comes to what's going on in the whole being on an island. Alot safer than southern Ontario.
I'm from Central! I know people that will be going to Sville also and yea i've been to New Brunswick and such..
I am! Well...I was born there but we moved away when I was 10 months (for jobs and whatnot). But I went back there this summer and got Screeched In and had the BEST vacation of my life! What part are you moving to?
sorry about that...I meant to write more but had ten things going on at the same time I replied. We spent a month out there this summer. Drove from Port aux Basques to St. John's. I don't know why anyone would want to leave.(yeah work I know). We are kind of the back to the land type. So we plan on a big garden, digging clams, picking berries and of course moose. After being in the rat race that isn't going anywhere too long we are getting out and only going to work the bare minimum. So did you see whales, puffins, moose, caribou?? The only thing we didn't see was an iceberg. We travelled the road from Burgeo back to Stehpenville at dusk and saw seven moose in the middle of the road...and only two cars on that trip... Okay my minute of peace is gone again. I'll talk to you again later.
Wow i didn't know there were ne newfies on here, i live on the avalon in CBN... hit me up sometime guys, i am in sville a bit in the summer for the theatre fest. (worth checking out btw, plug plug plug )
i'm not a newfie but probably have seen more of the rock than 99% of newfoundlanders ....used to put on reptile shows in schools all over newfoundland ....it's a grand place ....hope to make it back up that way sometimes in the near future ....for scenery it is unsurpassed ..and the people are downright nice ..felt right at home
