It's good to be back in town. Very long road trip, but profitable. Anyway to the point. I picked up an old Singer sewing machine, really old foot-treadle type that doesn't use electricity. Reminds me of my grandmother. Besides I can still sew when the power's out here, which happens every time we have a thunder storm. Does anyone know to set the stitch length on this thing? I've only found parts of an old user's manual online. I can get it threaded. It works great. I just can't get the top thread and the bobbin thread to get together right. The bobbin thread is coming out too loose. Any help? Anyone's grandma still around who might know? It's a wonderful old machine in perfect condition with all the original parts and cabinet except the user's manual. BB, mouse_gnome
http://www.needlebar.com/manuals/singer12k/ don't know if this is your machine, but it gives advice on "TO ALTER THE LENGTH OF STITCH" so, maybe it will help
check out singers web site. i think its www.singer.com you can order manuals for old machines for about 10-15$.
Thanks ladies. I'll be up tonight trying to get it right. It really was a good find. I haven't seen one like this for a long time.
