I have knowledge and I have the skills by which to use them, I know how to think for myself, I do not just rearrange the ideas of novelists and philosophers

btw I haven't "come up with" any theories, but at least I understand the ones that are out there, I get how things work, that is a long distance beyond the vast majority of the population, if you don't believe me walk up to 15 random people, ask them to explain to you even the most basic physics behind an atomic bomb, they most likely will not be able to tell you, this technology that affects us every day, nuclear energy and the vast majority of people have no idea how it works


You'd probably get the same results asking about internal combustion engines (standard or rotary, take your pick) or integrated circuits, god forbid you ask someone on the street why chip archetecture matters....

when you can start getting better than 50% explanations on all of those things, accurate complete explanations I will retract my remark that people are stupid, because it truly is stupid not to understand the things that make your life work

I just don't think not caring about metaphysics or other bullshit makes you stupid, and I think you sound like a jackass when you say that it does.

I mean can you lay a foundation? Or drive an 18-wheeler? Just because people have different fields of expertise than you, or don't know everything you consider "important" doesn't make them dumb. And I think it's really insulting when you say that it does.

 

And I don't know where you're from, but almost every guy I know knows how an engine works. They all work on their own cars, after all.

1. you'd be amazed how many people have no idea how engines work,
2. this is a world where in the richest nation greater than 60% have not read a whole book over 100 pages in their life time

in the "best educated" nation in the world around 10% of people haven't read a 100 page or more book cover to cover (may have changed that was in like '02)
