Does anyone like them? Is Pete Townshend a guitar hero? Best song- 1. "I can see for Miles" 2. I don't know the name, the one where it goes "I'm an air conditioned gypsy, watch the tax man and the police man miss me" Mobile?
"Who are you" is probably the best "Fuck you pig" song next to Fuck the Police by NWA or Cop Killer by Ice-T... No one can windmill like Pete does, and their performance on Rock and Roll Circus just shows how good a band they were. RIP Keith Moon.
Police and thieves is up there as well. Won't get fooled again is my favourate who song. Townsends a great guiatrist and daltrys a fine song witer. Entwhistle's one of the best rock basists ever and keith moon is a legendary drummer.
Im an airconditioned gypsy is Going Mobile from the Who's Next album. I prefer the early period Who, that is pre-Tommy. fave songs: A Quick One, While He's Away Substitute Happy Jack I Can See For Miles Mary Anne with the Shaky Hands Tattoo IM a Boy Boris the Spider So Sad About Us Leaving Here Amazing Journey/sparks pictures of lily Rael there are tons more.....
the first who album I got was "The Kids Are Alright", then I got the 30 years of maximum R&B (box set)...... so buying the individual albums is kind of out of the question....... I did get Live at Leeds and The Who Sell Out...... I do have the who sings my generation, a quick one and the who sell out on vinyl , though. ohh and the last who album I got was BBC sessions.... its not as good as the zeppelin and hendrix bbc sessions though..... (its only one cd!)
I love The Who! They're one of my top 10 bands.. My fave album is The Who Sell Out I guess... it used to be Tommy but I've listened to it too much (but definitely not as much as Nick...)
Same here! I mean... I love Who's Next and Quadrophenia, and of course, Tommy, and I admit they're full of genius, but, yeah, I just can't get into those albums as much as their early ones.
yep, the early ones...favorite songs include Kids are Alright, Pictures of Lily, Anywhere Anyhow Anyway. I like few songs off Tommy, but not into their later stuff at all.
Love 'em...... Think The Who by Numbers is one of the most under rated albums of all time ........ and Live at Leeds is possibly one of best live albums, ever!
I love the Who. I was fortunate enough to get to see them in 1975 before Keith Moon died. Great concert!!!
I have the remastered version with everything but the entire tommy sequence. only thing from tommy is the amazing journey/sparks.... I know there are double disks out there now with the whole concert (that includes tommy in its entirety)
The Who are great. I seem to be the opposite of most opinions I see where people prefer their earlier 60's stuff to the 70's, stadium rocking Who... I think their bombastic approach was suited to big venues and I love watching their shows from the 70's... Especially my Houston '75 DVD. :H Who's Next is my album pick for obvious reasons.
Sorry, just not possible!!!! "Listen to Tommy with a candle burning and you will see your future" Name the film.....
