someone on here said in reference to psy-trance/goa gatherings, that it seemed almost cult-like. I've listened to the music with a nearly dogmatic zeal ever since i first heard it 8 years ago. Anyone have any feedback of their own person relation/experience/perception of this music? I dont listen to too much other types of electronic music cept for ambient or very spaced out relaxation music like Hearts of Space. And of course I listen to the full gambit of folk-country, independent hiphop, rock, native/ethnic, classical, etc etc, others and this and that, etcetera, but I tend to have a preference for music that has no lyrics, or has vocals that do not make a language, or in languages i do not understand.

ok people, discuss among yourselves. (because voice inflection is difficult to convey, it was in that SNL coffee talk way). :p

    peace be with

what shpongle cd? they are not psy-trance, they are hyperspatial!

    there is: are you shpongled?
    tales of the inexpressible
    nothing lasts

and some remixes around. are you shpongled has the closest feel to 'psy', tales gets more ethnic, and nothing lasts is utterly--well, i let your ears speak.

all psy-trance songs fall in a similar BPM something that coressponds with beta wave frequencies. there are plenty of exceptions though, just this is a pretty common thing (130-150bmp) i believe, though i'm not any expert.

Shpongle are on the chill out end of psy trance, as well as others like Ott who is also brilliant.

As far as the harder stuff goes, definelty listen to -
Hallucinogen (aka Simon Posford who also does Shpongle)
Definitely listen to - Unusual Suspects 2 on Twisted records
    Infected Mushroom (earlier stuff pref)
    Koxbox
    G.M.S
    Tristan
    1200 mics
    Man with no Name

Could go on but these are good places to by goa and psy stuff -

    www.saikosounds.com
