A full moon will be present on August 19. I was wondering a few things, though.. as everyone knows the full moon brings out different sides in people, or so they say. I once heard that the it has something to do with the moon and the tides, and that when a full moon is present, it pulls on the water in your brain, triggering something which make people act strangely..any knowledge on this? Also, I was curious as to what it meant when your moon sign is present in the moon that night. i.e. the 'gemini' moon is present in the moon, and if your moon sign is gemini.. what does that mean? Blessed be
I'm not into astrology either, but I think I have heard of some documeted cases of animals, humans, acting stranger during a full moon. I think there are statistics that say that a certian type of crime rate or something is always higher during a full moon night.
On the other hand, she did post a few scientific ideas about it - particulary the way the gravity may influence the brain, etc. I'm not really sure about this - perhaps the best people to ask is astronauts whose brains seem to do just fine with no gravity! The biggest impact of a full moon I know of is that you can walk around at night and see really well. Maybe this is where some of the myths come from... before the spread of streetlighting I imagine it was quite a different time of the month relative to a minimal or absent moon. Traditionally though, people went to bed when it got dark so maybe if you were out making use of this available light you were regarded as a bit of a weirdo, and labelled a werewolf in the same way people got labelled as witches. Just some random thoughts really!
haha I definately know how that one goes!! hehe but Im like that alot when Im outside anyways lol....
ah whoooooooooo ah whooo ah whoooooooooo. Amateur astronomers certainly act crazier during full moons. They just can't stand all that light screwing up their viewing. .
I've often wondered if the human menstrual cycle had any evolutionary ties to the cycle of the moon. Both are about one month in length. The words 'month' and 'menstrual' comes from the word Moon or month, I think. Mensis is latin for 'month'. I imagine a lot of sea life must have ties to the lunar cycle. .
the menstral cycle and the moon are very interrelated, i read in article once.. i can't quite remember how though, so it would be great if someone could explain it. the ocean and the tides and the moon, i'm very sure..red tide..
