THe White Stripes. I just got back from another long slog at work, and I've had to listen to that fucking "doorbell" song over and over again. When I first heard it, I thought it was a pisstake. Then I realised it was the white Stripes. I cannot express how SHITE I think the White Stripes really are. Really. GEgjnierredfgerga. Fucking shite awasteof no talent shiut crap arse.
If you disagree with me on this, then, I'm sorry, but....no I'm not really. . I hate them sOoooo much and they are only famous because of some pretentious cunts at rolling stone magazine, Nme, et al.

cant say ive put the white stripes onto my wave length will have a listen and get back too you ........cant say there is a lot of music i really like from todays choice .....bands arent bands anymore.........i like stones,van morrison .jimi hendrix ,phil manzenerra.........one band i really like from today is razorlight they are cool ..peace

What's with the band bashing at the mo?!! I love The White Stripes.. bt hey they are another THE band aren't they so in all fairness I wouldn't expect you to like them (judging from an earlier post on THE bands!). Their new album is good. It defo a grower! NICE!

 

Of course, erm...I'm a big fan of THE dresden Dolls, THE Eels, THE Kaiser Chiefs etc, so I guess that I am in fact a big fat hypocrite who should stop rubbishing evernyone elses taste in music.
I still think Razorlight and The white stripes are shit. But not as bad as Athlete. Those guys suck.
Actually. I just realised why I'm bitter. If I saw any of these bands playin at my local I'd probably quite like them, but the way that they are hyped up to be so amazing, with some publications rating X & Y as being in the same league as Sgt. Peppers (WTF?!), really gets to me.

WHY??!?! Let;s be honest, they're just another flavour of the week like pretty much every band nowadays. Nobody will even remember them in a few years time. Same as most of these emo bands.
This is why I believe originality and creativity to be important.

You still angry at music ? C,mon man enjoy what you enjoy and stop demanding that everyone else likes what you like, if your favourite band became big time, you'd soon turn off them.

Familiarity can be comfortable, you shouldn't really disrespect peoples like of it. Originality is good but not necessary all the time.

 

How is the music here? Is it the same as in the U.S. ?

 

That isn't true at all. Again, I refer you to my entry on the Top Ten thread. Despite that, I want to apologise for my rubbishing of bands left, right, and center. I have been a little out of sorts this week, and have been venting m frustration in the wrong ways.

I still despise Razorlight, White Stripes, and all the other NME flavours, but I understand that some people aren't as passionate about music as I am, and that these shallow acts are perfectly satisfactory for people who are happy to listen to the same chord progressions, played by people whose only inspiration is their bank balance.

Too be honest, I had to sort of "force" myself to like them, because I felt left out in the cold by the current crop of young rock hopefuls. So, yeah, I kinda like them, but only in a shallow peripheral way.

 

White Stripes are indeed dire. I've seen them live and my god zzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ what people forget is on the cds they have a full band playin. When I saw them live was just Jack and Meg, songs sounded even more weak and empty than on record
