i had backcombed a bunch of small ones in the back and recently decieded to join them with bands. but i hate having bands on because i know that they slow down the dreading process. and so i hope eventually those ones lock up together. how long does it take for dreads to congo, or to get to the stage where they start to congo? and do you think it was smart to take the bands off?

Dreads naturally congo all the time. every time you rip two dreads appart you are just taking a congo appart.

If you want to encourage two to join take them between your first to fingers at the root and rub them in circles against your scalp. It will start them knotting nicely :) it takes time to congo though

is it difficult for dreads to congo. because im just kinda letting my hair do its own thing, and form whatever dreads it wants instead of sectioning it and trying to control how big or small the dreads are. at least now anway. hopefully when they get more knotty i can combine some or rip some apart. is it difficult for two dreads to congo?
