Well, have her make sure everything they promise is written down and signed by both parties, and i dont know how the airforce does it but the navy gives you a chance to come it at E-3, if they offer any acclereated advancement, its a very good idea to take advantage of it... Out of all the services its the best and safest in my opionion of the armed forces...

i spent 6 weeks at lackland air force base one night!!! first off a recruiter is a professional salesman/liar, he/she'll do their best to make it sound like its all flufy bunnies and butterflies. if its not in writing it won't happen. if it is in writing good luck. while the air force is not as challenging physically to a person, the mental bullshit is ten times worse. if a person is damaged mentally it damages them physically. most kids these days see free college money, they pay it to a certain point, but if they pull you in the middle of a semester you start all over again. good luck in getting time to actually attend college while you're on active duty. also remember that you are obligated for 8 years, not just the 4 active you think you'll serve so that means they can yank your as back at anytime, inconvient or not. your body becomes property of uncle sam, they tell you what, when, where, and how to use it, you have no choice. personally if you want college money get a student loan. it might be a debt, but a small one compared to signing over your soul. can she live with being a part of killing innocent people? just they make her a secretary don't mean she's not part of the team. i've been there, i still have to live with things i did while i was there, and now survive on social security disability with 2 wrecked knees and a trashed out lower back. did they give me anything for the damage> yes, an entry level seperation= like i never even existed or "served" my country. right now recruiting is at a record low, they will say anything to convince you. peace and blessings, Pan

thanks astro what you said is pretty much what ive been trying to tell her mom ive not had the chance to sit down with her to explain it to her! the contract is no contract at all exept that you sieng your life away and join a org. that tells you you do what we say regardless of what we said before !!! and yaa they are real good at selling widgets because no one can live without one! hehe! i just want opinions because they/she wont listen to me!thanks! peace!

Ah yes, promises like breakdown of ego, being treated like an idiot, how to kill innocent people without rhyme, reason or regret.
Sounds like the regime and methods of monsters to me.

they are just capitolizing on her trust. and giving her a seemingly easy way to attain the things in life that are hard to get. of course they are lying to her, and very few kids who sign up ever end up in school afterwords. tell her that she should trust the government, because that is the entity that is making life miserable to begin with, college tuition is outrageousely priced esp for someone who is 17 and cant find a job that pays over 10000 a year. the system is designed to exploit young people, and that is in a way what is happening to her. make sure she dosent sign, orhave the parents sue the recruiters for harrassing thier daughter.
