Eminem is a poser. He's fake. He talks about keeping it real but why does he have to dress and act like something he's not to fit in with his so called peers and friends?

Which peers and friends are you refering to? If you mean the guys in his videos sometimes (D12) he actually grew up with them. A lot of people assume he wants to be a gangster because of the way he dresses, which is just plain ignorance. If you grew up in the same area as Eminem, chances are you would dress like that too. Its like having a go at white Jamaicans "Hey, you're white, who are you trying to kid speaking like Bob Marley?" Just think outside the box people, he was influenced by his surroundings. Its not that hard to grasp. His life didn't begin when he went on MTV wearing a doo rag.

In a lot of his songs he raps about growing up in a trailer park, not the ghetto or projects. He raps about his mom being verbally abusive and popping pills. Not being shot at and having to deal with the crackheads typically found in the ghettos and projects. I grew up with a mix of races and I dont walk talk and act like something Iam not. But Eminem, he does. Its all about being real. Something he is not. He has to act, talk and dress like African-Americans in poverty to be excepted amongst his peers in the hip-hop community. And that to me, is fake.

I'd rather listen to him bitching about his mum than acting like he was a gangster. He was viewed as "white trash" by everyone, because he was from a trailer park, like you said. So he wouldn't have the respect to join a gang and get involved in drugs, guns etc. He's not making himself out to be a gangster in his music, infact, he ridicules gang culture. I'd say that was keeping it real, but hey, different strokes and all that. I disagree with the last couple of sentences in your quote, but we aren't going to change eachothers opinions so i'm not going to argue.

He does act like he's a gangsta. LOL, where have you been? And pay close attention to a lot of his songs, rapping about carrying weapons and shooting at people. Look further past 8 Mile and you will see.

I guess that makes Kurt Cobain a wannabe gangster then? Maybe, like a lot of Americans, Eminem likes guns and chooses to express this through his music (might not be too deep, but we have a choice to listen to it or not.) Could you show me a few examples way of Eminem rapping about shooting at people please? He mentions carrying unloaded, liscensed guns (what a bad ass!) quite often on The Eminem Show....

I wouldn't take that song too seriously, he's rapping about shooting fans who bug him for autographs. Shit song, regardless.

some of his songs are good, some bad. he was smart enough to make something of himself and im sure he had to work hard to get where he was, though he definately gained alot of attention making controversial waves. lots of kids loved him and most parents hated him......but either way, people remember him and talk about him, so he accomplished his goal.

alot of people sing about their past and the events in their life, why shouldn't he rap about them? whether his lyrics are true or he is bullshitting doesn't matter. the point of any song is to entertain audiences.

and please inform me of the "dress code" of poverished african-americans because last time i checked people could dress and talk how they want. i don't think he dresses abnormal for who he is and where he comes from.

and even if he DID change his image, how many other famous people do as well? i guess they must all be fake too. check out how "dorky" avril lavigne used to look..........damn what a poser!! it is an entertainment industry and adapting is something lots of stars do.....

and im sure there are alot of crack-heads in the projects, as well as trailer parks, and anywhere else for that matter..
