Pffff. The Beatles were about on a level with n-synch and such. It's mindless bubble-gum pop. Stones all the way.

Revolver was a good record though!

edit: still not smoking? I quit just over a year ago, and it's the best thing I've ever done! Ganja is so much sweeter now, not to mention life. :)

I'll take Their Satanic Majesties Request over The Magical Mystery Tour, but that's as far as it goes for the stones favourism.

beatles early music wasnt mindless. it was unique, thats why it was so popular. you have to think of it in its context. obviously they had to start sounding like the existing styles, and then they could progress into their more experimental stuff after gaining such popularity

beatles are my fav, some stones is fun but not a whole album

Man, that is a tough one! I started on the stones,.... not at the beginning, but later on, I was a blues fan and they were doing music that just blew me away! I loved their image, what they stood for (rebels) and what they did musically. I was, and always have been, a big 'keef' fan! I played guitar because of him, I learned alot just listening to his rhythm technique. and I got really good at it.

Then the beatles come along. what fabulous musicians! Their lyrics and recording advancements, backwards recording, violins, orchestras, hidden messages,.....yeah,....thats a tough call, but.....stones all the way! Keff all the way!!!!!

    Led Zep
    Pink Floyd
    The Eagles
    ZZ Top
    U2
    The Band
    The Beach Boys
    Abba

All are in the same league in my view, and for quality songwriting, I pick the Eagles.

Outta the Stones and the Beatles I pick the Stones.

The Stones have that raw emotion in their music, and are more bluesy rock and roll which is always gonna appeal to me.

The difference between The Rolling Stones and The Beatles is like the difference between CSNY and Crazy Horse....

I'd struggle to choose between the two, so probably couldn't say who I prefer on a personal level or who I thought were better, but on a totally unrelated note I actually prefer The Kinks to both of 'em
