I just purchsed my tickets for mid january. My first time there, and Ill be traveling alone. I was thinking about staying at the hotel Nadia. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about this hotel. Also, I understand it is close to dam square. I heard that is about a 10 minute walk from central station and the leidesplein, is this true? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!!

Numerous sites have reviews on the Nadia and the general consensus is reasonable prices and good value although some people complain about the steep stairs and lack of elevator. I'm not a real fast walker but I'd say it's about 15 minutes from CS and about 20 minutes to Leidseplein. http://www.zien.info/grachtw.uk/J2216504.HTM ...is a picture of the building the houses the Nadia. The great zien info site has 4000 pictures of Amsterdam street corners. If you click on the top or bottom of the picture you advance a block or turn around. The left and right side click will give the view if you turn at the corner.
