I've been thinking about the whole concept of causal sex lately... ya kno just hooking up with people for fun, but i was wondering about other people's takes on it... do u think its slutty or anything else wrong with it?

I doubt my mindset and opionions will change, just because i've been brought up to think of sex as something that isnt as big a deal as most people make it... i'd jjust like to kno other peoples opinions on it before i go back to school...

    Thanx :)

My last and only long-term relationship was pretty much based on casual sex. I don't consider it slutty.

Here are the four criteria for sex:

    1) Are both people competent and willing? (e.g. you're not taking advantage of someone because of youth, inebriation, mental challenges, coma etc.)

    2) Are both people disease free, or are BOTH PARTIES aware of the risks and taking precautions? (Believe it or not HIV+ people are just at much at risk from others - any infections they pick up will hit them MUCH harder)

    3) Do both people know what they'll do in case of pregnancy?

    4) Are both parties aware of their emotions and are they BOTH APPROPRIATE? e.g. she thinks he'll love her if she nails him, he's just looking to brag to his friends etc.

If all four points are a go and neither person is underage, enh.

ahaha, if you start asking all these questions you'll never get anything... People'll just think you're freakish

    1) Who cares

    2) Condome

    3) Oh yeah, like anyone's gonna ask... Besides condome again (super gum :D)

    4) Either yeah, or she's a dumb bitch "If I let him fuck me the first time we meet after using all the cheapest tricks in the book, he's bound to love me"

    Besides.... underage.... she's 15

    1) Hell yeah
    2) We were both virgins
    3) If one of us gets pregnant, believe me, we'll be having the baby. Last I checked neither of us can though.
    4) I suppose

as long as you're having responsible sex (ie wearing condoms, you on the pill, having regular check ups) with people who are NOT in any kind of commitment with other people (girlfriend, married, etc) casual sex can be a fun and good way to understand yourself better.

if it feels good after you have done it, its all good, if not, dont do it again.

Thats all i want... and supposedly thats all he wants too...

but im not convinced thats what he wants.... which makes it even more frustrating because when we were dating it seemed like sex was all he wanted.

    So pretty much, im confused.

But the whole casual sex thing seems to be working out quite well at the moment.

i think you're only slutty if you have no regard for yourslef.

it's a fine line i'll admit on the matter of casual sex but i would never consider myself a slut and i wouldn't be all to opposed to it.

I personally wouldnt have just casual sex.. Thats not me and I couldnt have sex with someone whom I had no feelings for and just knew it was just about sex..wouldnt feel good about myself and it would probably make me vomit having someone I dont care for touch me...would rather just masturbate..its safer and more effective :D
But that is just me and how I am..
I dont classify others as sluts or judge people cause of their sex life, thats their business not mine..
But as for me, not into the whole casual sex thing..thats a negative...

One's attitude on casual sex is strongly influenced by two things: 1) age and 2) whether one is in a long-term relationship.

I'm 52 years old and have been in a relationship -- albeit an openly non-monogamous one -- for 20 years. At my age, casual sex no longer appeals to me; there IS a difference between having sex simply for the physical gratification it brings on the one hand and being sexually intimate with someone you love on the other.

I much prefer the joy of erotic intimacy with those whom I deeply love. On those occasions when I'm horny and merely want to get my jollies, I can simply use my imagination -- and my left hand.

Each individual has to decide for himself or herself which type of sexual pleasure he or she prefers. The bottom line is that whichever way you express your sexuality, that you harm no one.

casual sex is great as long as theyr cool and i have the craving, why not go for it. i only live to love and have fun. if somebody wants to think im a slut.. well.. theyre probably only trying to deny how they feel anyway.

Some people might think it's slutty, but always remember the definition of a slut: A slut is somebody that's getting more sex than you are.

The bottom line though, there's nothing wrong with casual sex at all. We're all human, that's the way we were created, to desire sex and to have sex. Just be sure that neither party thinks it's anything more than just sex. When somebody starts getting emotionally involved, that's when it gets complicated and causes problems.

Wrong.. a slut is someone who has no standards and will sleep with anyone regardless of attraction or otherwise. A slut is a prostitute that doesn't get paid.

To reply to the topic at hand.. I've had casual sex numerous times and with a few individuals I had no problem with this at all. For the most part, it isn't really for me. I usually develop a lot stronger emotions when I have sex with someone, especially if I know them for longer then a month. Just causes to much confusion in my head so I tend to stay away from it. If you can have casual sex with an individual and be honest with them about not wanting anything more then casual sex, then I say go for it. Nothing wrong with it. Just understand that the other party involved might develop stronger feelings. You deffinetely have to communicate your intentions before anything happens.

I understand what you are saying, but I was just trying to be facetious. The point was that if anyone did call her a slut, she should just consider the source and not take it too seriously.

Any sex would be ok with me right now. Having a "dry spell".

But in answer to your question, if it's wanted by both and both know that it is just casual then I see no harm.
