And no Christians HAS EVER killed anyone else, have they?

I guess only Christians count as people, huh? I guess if "Gawd" told them to slaughter a mass society like he did in the Old Testament--it can be explained away, right?

But, when some poor Christian is unjustly killed, it is horrid!

Murder and slaughter is horrid. Period. No matter if a Christian is killed or doing the killing.

Thanks to religion it abounds in more forms than one. Glory!!

yeah, christians can be murderers just like everyone else. but let's not forget how many times political wars are started and the uneducated masses are told it's a holy war. it's just a power/land/resource grab, but someone manages to put a religious flag on it. greed is greed. religion didn't start the war.

Naw, I don't think so. In the US there's a culture war going on. The far right has set themselves up as the voice of God, while labeling the far left as Godless. However, that's too simplistic, as believers and non believers span the entire political spectrum.
Anyway, round a bout way of saying that in the States for the most part it's not Christianity being under attack as it is this messed up religio/socio/economic and political ideology which far rightists claim is internally dependent, rather than the message of Jesus. I think that's an ideology which deserves to be attacked.

if it wasn't religion people argued over, it'd just be come other cultural difference. unless all humanity has one culture, language, system of philosophy and appearance, they're gonna fight. and death is not evil. people HAVE to die. our need to war and kill each other is a biological/evolutionary necessity. i mean, fuck, even deer and elk will kill each other for just practice and the right to pussy.

I agree with that, often times wars and violence are stamped with the label religious, in an attempt to appear legitimate and gain support and justification, rather than being informed by religious teachings. Kinda like what's happening in Islam right now.

I can just see the headlines now......"A plane crashed today in Kenya, 112 killed including 7 Christians and 1 American"

In regards to missionaries, hey sometimes you are going to get killed when going into remote regions and telling everyone they are going to hell unless the convert...

Religion has caused more harm than insanity.

Sure we have political views, moral views, etc. but the majority of people base even THESE views on their religion and the majority of people in the world are religious.

When people can just love people and believe in themselves and others around them, open up and disagree (but have fun in the process) and share ideas (even though it may lead to arguments--it can be settled with words, not killing) we will never progress.

Religion is both a crutch and a handicap to the progress of humanity, in my opinion. But, I guess I am just being "arrogant" cause I "know it all".

Man, we can't let differences in religion and ideas get in the way of love. That'd be sad.

    Oh, I agree... completely.

However, I have no differences in religion. I am just exposing religion for the cankered worm it is. People don't have to embrace my worldview. I mean I love people no matter what they "believe", but as ardent as the religious folk are to present their worldview on atheists, so am I as passionate in my beliefs.

We can still go have a beer together and talk art... ;)

Every religon has the right to be. Unless you believe in Christianity.

Is it under attack, no people are just believeing in something different. To christians they may see that as a threat. Because some christians believe they are only right.

Some Christians believe only they're right, others would claim they simply have a piece of the truth.

    Oh puh-leeze...

That's such horseshit. This whole fucking hemisphere is ingrained in Bible Belt concepts of morality and traditions. Sure Christianity is being attacked, but it's not the only religion.

I love these so-called Christians who claim they aren't out to convert people. You're not REAL Christian, if you aren't. Christianity is not an defensive religion--it is a religion based on CONVERSION and the pleasure/pain principle-- threats from the Holy Commander.

Be a Christian or burn in Hell!!!!!!!

Ideas like that should be "attacked" by thinking people.

I ask this question because I believe even
    Islam
    Hinduism
    and
Buddhism believe their faith is under attack

If all religions claim to be under attack who do you think is attacking them all?
