1. Joaquin Phoenix - I love the roles in which he portrays a, “philosophical” character. Deep in though, yet painfully shy, (a la, The Village). 2. Julian McMahon - The relationship between Phoebe and Cole (Charmed) will always hold a special meaning for me. The aspect of light and darkness portrayed reminds me of an old flame and myself. " Light and darkness can never be." 3. Vince Vaughn - Clay Pigeons anyone?
'Rear Window' is not only my favorite Jimmy Stewart film, it's my all-time favorite film, period. 'It's a Wonderful Life' is a very close second for favorite Jimmy Stewart films. Here's a guy who made a living pretty much just playing himself in all of his films (John Wayne and Cary Grant are also examples of this), what the hell, it worked! You're right about these actors today not "keeping their feet on the ground" (though there were plenty of examples during Stewart's time---I think the big difference back then was you didn't have to "go to school" to be a publicist). There are too many people today who are "famous for just being famous." And there doesn't seem to be any shortage of viewers willing to watch them.
I love the Bulgarian actors, like Krasio Lafazanov, Velko Kanev, Asen Blatechki, Stoianka Mutafova, Maria Sapundjieva, but I think you don't know them, so I must say Marlon Brando, Johny Depp, Antonio Banderas
