Okay... this is a band that I'm listening to a lot at the mo... Funeral is the name of the album so get hold of it and give it a go... if you like quirky music then give it a go... Could be this year's Polyphonic Spree... Fly...
Got the album, and for a moment I actually thought I was listening to Tim Delaughter's cheery tones. So yeah, they're pretty damn good. Favourite track is Crown of Love. However, why can't the Spree be this years Spree? How come nobody ever talks about "Together We're Heavy"?!
Heard a bit of them on a walkman in a Helsinki bar the other day I'll definitely be checking them out further.
Good point... well I'm happy to say that Hold Me Now remains one of my fave ever tracks... Perhaps you should start up a Together We're Heavy Appreciation Thread... Fly...
both polyphonic and the arcade fire are fan-bloody-tastic. they are still relatively unknown here (despite polyphonic having visited) but that does not diminish their awesomeness. yey for great music.
I love them thiiiiiiiiiis much! *stretches out arms to demonstrate* 'Come on Alex, you can do it!' I'm definitely going to be seeing them at Leeds Festival. Fly, have you heard any Final Fantasy? It's kind of an Arcade Fire side project, they're instrumental and lovely. I have a couple of mp3s if you'd like me to send you them. I can send you or link you to some Arcade Fire BBC Sessions torrents too.
Hokay, you're added to my msn so the next time you're about I'll send them right to you! Failing that, I'll e-mail them
I'd love t hear them! I'm seeing the Spree a t weekend at Lowlands... haven' heard from them in ages... can't wait!
AH, man. David Byrne is a GOD!!! Grown Backwards is an awesome album, and his performance of Glass, Concrete & Stone was probably my Jools Holland highlight of last year
