August 19th, out in scranton pa the allmans are playin. Just seein if anyone is going. I will be there, with my dad and my good friend jess. It will be the 3rd time im seein them this year. There isnt anything like a great allmans show. Its gonna be a 5hr road trip, and its gonna be fuckin great. ive been looking forward to this for a while and its almost here!!! Well if you are goin look for us there. we got seats, not lawn but im sure we will be walking around on the lawn from time to time. Does anyone know what the cops there are like at concerts there? I have never been out there and i dont really know much about the town.
Damn I'd like to be there. I miss Duane. Baddest slide guitar on the planet,.. And he don't need to be alive to prove that.
Yeah it would be great if duane was there, id love to have seen the allmans live with duane.. but derek trucks can play slide pretty damn good too. and of course warren kicks ass too!
You'll have fun i'm sure, but you won't see Warren performing. He has 'family issues' to sort out at the moment, and will miss the first week of the tour, so i don't think he'll be playing when you go. Jack Pearson and Ron Holloway (sax) are filling in. Jack has previously had a stint in the band and is an excellent guitarist. Still should be a lot of fun, i wish i was gonna be there for sure.
Yeah i heard, my dad just told me. but its ok cause ive seen him twice this year, and my dad saw them 4 times already. It will deffinatly be interesting to see it without him though. we will still have a great time!!!
They usually do play it for an encore. I think taking Dickey out really took out a lot of the tradition in the allmans, but it relieved a lot of pressure and stress off of Gregg, Butch, and Jaimoe... plus Derek is one hell of a guitarist, especially for his age, and he really gives you an idea of how Duane would have sounded if he lived a few more years. Sometimes when I listen to Derek, I wonder if Duane came back to finish what he started. Oh, and I forgot to mention... Susan has a fucking awesome voice. I couldn't really picture them without Warren, but I know Warren filled in for Al when his flight was delayed in Newark back in July, so maybe Chuck or Al will also try to fill in and jam. Rob is an insane bassist. He is definately underestimated... and if you want to know what I'm talking about, just see moe. do Moth or Timmy Tucker. I think everybody in moe. is fairly underrated. And those damn xylophone solos, man. It's just insane.
Yeah, I've seen Warren twice, too... caught the deja voodoo tour and him with the allmans. So far, I've seen Xavier Rudd the most, this year.
thats awesome! all the original member. Only 3 left in the band though. still gonna be a kick ass show.
they're coming out here sometime soon, or maybe they just came by. i'm not sure, but my mom kept talkin about them.
If Warren isn't there, I may not go. I love his singing and playing. He is gone because he is in rehab...
i know a dude who's band opened up for them and then when the allman brothers went out on stage they were booed off because they were totally wasted and the guy's band had to go back on and play.
