What 's hinduism's stance on homosexuality ? I think lesbian sex is mentioned in the Kamasutra but that hardly qualifies as a religious document Since homosexuality seems to be tearing apart other religions like christianity was curious what Hinduism had to say ?
Actually , hindus believe that sexuality of any sort has to be moderated. Whatever it is, it should not stop you from attaining inner peace or your calmness. One has to hold on to the inner self and let the constantly changing mind have some peace atleast.
In Hinduism, chastity (brahmacharya) is highly encouraged. religious leaders have taught brahmacharya for milennia. in Sanatan Dharma, the soul is genderless, which means it is only our body is having sexual desires. to have total control of your body, sexual behaviour is to be moderated until brahmacharya is achieved. Talking about homosexuality, I again have to say that the soul is genderless and that our body just acts as a cover for the soul. Sexual orientation is a part of the body, and therefore doesn't play any role in practicing your faith as long as you follow it completely. In Bhagavad-Gita, Krsna even says anyone can achieve liberation, no matter what their backgrounds are. Greets!
