if you haven't guessed by my user name im a pretty big fan and actually have been for years now. recently i picked up the new album and personally i think it's one of those albums that has to grow on me because im actually not very happy after the first few spins. robert smith sounds angrier than usual and it kind of turned me off. lyrically, i feel it's not his best work but the song "us or them" was the most different from the bunch and actually all of his songs aside "100 years." in that song he actually puts down his opinions on the war and i couldnt agree with him more. anyway i wanted to know if anyone picked up this album or has anything to say. oh and my favorite song off the new album so far is before three, if you cared.
I like the Cure and i've heard the new album... it's got good moments and horrible moments i think. horrible moments would include all the songs where robert uses the "fuck" word.... it just sounds totally unnecesary and it stands out too much. The best song would have to be "the end of the world"... absolutely great i think. I agree with you though, i don't like the over-angryness on some of the songs.
i like them, but i've never actually bought an album, and i don't think i've heard anything off of their new one either
I LOVE the Cure with a passion. I don't have their new CD yet Hopefully I'll be able to get it tommorow. They're amazing live.
yeah they are absolutely incredible live. i've only seen them once but i am going to see them this year at the curiosa festival. it should be pretty good. opening for the cure is interpol, the rapture, and mogwai. should be a blast!
