I grew up across the street and hung out with all the "Flower Children" My big
brother Ken was in a protest band that went to Woodstock. I was supposed to
go to, but my mom said NO at the last minute. She found out that Stephanie
was going. Old man Riley's niece. His place was where the band practiced and
his kids were in it, too. Don't recall the bands name or if they actually got to play.
I just know that the folks who hung out at the park were cool people and they
taught me to love others and the earth. They taught me that I was a valuable
human being. They LOVED me. No one else in my life truly did. Nowadays I
hang out with the Rainbow clan every chance I get. Ain't found any up here
in Johnson City New York yet. Must be in hiding. If anyone from back then
reads this. I just want to say THANX. You gave me hope and I lived on that
for a very long time. Until I ran back into the clan in 1994 hitchhiking. Crystal
Karen picked me up and took me home for a while. Guess I've always been
a hippie at heart. I just knew I didn't fit in with the WORLD. I know now who
I am and where I belong. Thanx family for all the L-O-V-E!!!

    Yours forever truly, Cricket Shadowolf

I live in OKC. Memeorial Park is obviously not what it used to be. Of course I was not alive until 79, but I have an imagination to imagine what was goin on in that park back then. I can say that the park is still utilized for rallys, protests, and also parades (of the counter culture type). I know the "Impeach Bush" protest for OKC is scheduled there in Sept. on the 24th. In fact Im a DJ on a local pirate radio station that broadcasts from the Belle Isle area. Were always gettin real anti-political too. We've got a good 15 sq mile listening arena. Too bad ya live in NY state now. At least yer not missin the humidity. Peace...

I don't live in OK but my grandma was born on a reservation somewhere down there in the 20s. I wonder if anyone knows of any reservations down there? I want to find out everything I can and would like to learn how the Native Americans lived/live and maybe try that lifestyle out myself....

I grew up in Midwest City, left when I was 17, (in 75). Was not a lot to do there, went out of state for all the good concerts. Had most our parties out at Draper Lake. Been gone a long time, never have been able to find anyone I hung out with back then. But I had a lot of good times.

aren't rezes per se, aside from the Osage. What tribe was she?
Lots of tribal capitals still. Tahlequah has Cherokee and English on the windows downtown.
in the 20s, most of the tribes were getting screwed out of their land for farms and oil.
I spent 10 yrs in OKC/Norman area University of Central Oklahoma grad. Was Central State.
Saw the rise of the Groove fests in Norman.

Thanx. I was just hoping to reconnect with some of the old crowd. Kinda do the nostalgia thing and see how everyone was doing. It was a bright spot in my childhood. Wanted to thank some of them for all they did for me. Let them know how I turned out. Anyhow, Peace and Love to all.
