Like I said, I don't mind the genre, I'm very open-minded about that. As long as the music is good, I can like a song, no matter which genre it is. So there are certain emo stuff I like.
i said heavy rock cause listen to a more alternative sorta shit its not ''nu-metal'' but i don't consider it heavy metal and i dont consider myself a metalhead i like other shit too like some trip-hop,rap,r&b i dont have any dislike for any other genres except county and all the shit i see on mtv
Yeah, heavy rock definately isn't the same as nu metal to me. I love heavy rock and nu metal annoys me. I consider nowadays bands that are influenced by 60's and 70's rock and with a certain heavy groove added to it to this genre. So, not metal indeed however it can be pretty heavy at times. But of course it's handy to have genres to explain music styles, it isn't really important if it's called rock 'n roll, heavy rock, stoner rock or alternative metal. Trip hop can be really nice at times as well, however I almost never dig rap and r&b.
Death Cab For Cutie, Bright Eyes, The Postal Service, there's also some pretty good bands in the Emo section on downloads.com. Texas Is The Coalition, Don't Miss The Big, Action Film Survivors, etc. Most of the bands on saddle-creek.com are pretty good too, but for the most part their just indie artists. I hate to say it, but Taking Back Sunday is actually pretty good too, they're pretty much the only band in the corporate bullshit that MTV tries to pass off as emo that's acutally listenable.
*sigh* Why the fuck does everyone have to diss emo? Can't you just say "It's not my thing, but if you like it then that's just fine."
Thank you. Finally someone on these forums besides me who sees that...you are my new favorite person.
