Hey, I was wondering what other mama's out there have used to get rid of their stretch marks after birth. Anything thats worked good to fade them? I was only 100 pounds before i got pregnant with an 8.3 lb baby, and I gained so much that i have them bad, and I've been trying fruit of the earth vitamin E cream(cus they dont test on animals) , which seems to help a bit. any suggestions that worked for you ?
did you get good results with that? The whole pregnancy i practically bathed in cocoa butter. I'm very fair skinned. I guess theyre worse for porcelin skinned ppl like me.
Didn't use it personally...and i never seen a claim it was a sure-fire cure (don't think their is one)...some peeps get good results tho'
I have strechmarks everywhere from the time I was overweight, and losing the weight made them being a lot less there. But you can still see them, and I guess they will never go away completely....
Your baby is only a month old. They will definitely fade. I really don't think anything will make them go away completely, though.
yeah, those stretch marks are a pain for fair skinnys like us ay, lol, 9 months on mine are just starting to fade, the widest bits are still violet though, lol, vit e is good but you need to get the pure stuff, not just stuff in a cream, and put a lot on before bed everynight, i started that a few weeks ago and there has been a difference. someone told me bio-oil is good, but i don't know if its tested on animals or not?? hehe i try to think of mine as tattoo's that prove i'm a mama, lol, badges of honour, helps me deal with the fact i'm never gonna look the same again, its kinda like natures reminder to me that i'll allways be a mama too. they're not so bad really, lol
I have pure vitamin E (fruit of the earth again, that stuff is great they make everything). So, just put it on at night, huh. I'll try that thanks
Yes, Enigma, Badges of Honor! That's what they are. Be proud mama!!!! Easier said than done, huh? Oh~and I don't put anything on mine. I've heard that nothing works. I don't know????
It's not what's in the cocoa-butter lotion that helps, it's the massaging that you are giving your skin. You're helping to restore elasticity and blood flow....So spend more time massaging your belly, instead of slathering on the lotion and just going...
my mother SWORE by all kinds of remedies, though none of them actually worked. go figure. so far as i can tell, you either get them or you don't.
massage with mother's special blend by mt. ocean i used it during and now after only about 4 little marks that i got in labor
Palmer's coco butter stretch mark formula seems to work nicely. Stretch marks are partly genetic, partly nutrition. Some people are more prone to getting them. I barely have any, even after 7 babies, and I didn't use anything to prevent them. To improve the integrity and elasticity of your skin, drink lots of water, eat loads of fresh veggies and high quality protein, and take vitamin E supplements.
I really think you'll have them or you won't. My mom had 4 kids and hardly has any stretch marks. But, my sister and I have tons (I have a 7 year old and she has 2 babies). Not much seems to help. I will always hope that they will fade, but after 7 years, I'm not going to hold my breath. My husband says it must have something to do with me being a pale midwesterner.
mine have faded, but the extra skin has not. oh well, it's a badge of honor, that i went through an extremely dangerous pregnancy and came out healthy and with a sweet baby. and my husband, naturally, still wants me. that's nice.
