ok, u have tobe a vegetarian for a longer time than a few months to get sick, and everybodies body is different, i have a very sensitive stomach, thats one reason that i became a vegetarian, and i would probobly get sick if i ate it cause well i hate a weak stomach and ive been one for a year and a half. but, plz dont eat it, when ever u crave it, just do wat i do, think of all those cute little animals and then u eating them raw and riping there felsh out and eating it, sick right? well think of that, stay strong dont jsut give in to every little craving cause they pass, after u eat it, u will be sorry, trust me. save the animals and do ur colon some good, DONT GIVE IN!!!

i PROMISE you that if you stick to it and dont eat any meat....the craving will totally subside very soon. 3-4 months isnt very long, and you cant just expect to go veggie and all the sudden loose your taste for meat. when i first went veg i was craving it too...but i would remind myself WHY i was giving it up (ethical reasons) and that was more important to me than being impulsive and giving into a craving. and probably at about month 6 meat didnt even smell good anymore....it actually made me sick.
just stay with it and i swear you get over the "hump" of cravings....but if you give in, you might be setting yourself back and it will take longer.

glad to hear you've done it for 4 months already though, right on!

I also would remind myself why I chose to be vegetarian whenever I had cravings in the beginning, and soon, I would no longer crave it. If that isn't enough, you could always watch a disgusting video like "Meet Your Meat", and I'm sure you'd be too sick to eat anything, especially meat. About getting sick, I think it really depends on the person. I know a guy who ordered a veggie burger at a place and got a real one instead, and well, didn't quite figure it out until a few hours later when he got extremely sick, and he'd only been veg for about 6 months. I'm sure you'll be able to get over it. You could always try buying some faux meats. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they seem to taste relatively similar (and they're much better for the fact that an innocent little animal didn't have to die for it)

After I first became vegan, I would get cravings- like if I smelled something cooking. But then I would think about how much PAIN and s u f f e r i n g went into that cheeseburger, slice of pizza, etc.
Eventually, I became so that the smell of meat alone makes me grossed out.

Don't give up on yourself! You are doing such an important thing.

If you ever have a craving for meat- buy specialty vegetarian meats. They make EVERYTHING. I've seen vegetarian chicken, bacon, meatloaf, burgers, sausage, etc...

Keep pamphlets around or bookmark a website on farm factories. This way, when you feel like you're going to give in, just look through the information and photos to remind yourself why you gave up meat.

    Good luck with everything!

depends how healthy youve been eating and what your body chemistry is like.

i never got true cravings, like my body really wanting meat. hell i never even got fake cravings for months till i saw a fast food commercial really, and i KNOW my body isnt craving that stuff, unless some part of it is still withdrawling and addicted to it somehow. or maybe im just brainwashed, regardless i couldnt eat meat again if i wanted to.

I had some cravings in the beginning, and always when I had it, I ate beens, because they contain a lot of the things that meat contains, like protein and iron. So now I am craving for beans.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BEAAAAAAANS YUMMY!

    YAY!! Congrats!

Coz if you slip up and eat meat, then the last 4 months will be all for nothing. You'll have to start all over again at day #1. And we'll all make fun of you and make you cry.

    ;)

    Seriously, way to go!

you know, my husband just recently decided to reduce his junk food uptake, and stop eating so much refined sugar. now, suddenly, he's craving oreos. i can tell you that after 7 years of being with him, i've never seen him eat oreos. i think part of the quitting process always involves a desire for the forbidden. i wouldn't worry about it.
