Yes you can. He was the one pushing for more aid to Africa, I doubt whether Bush would have even given a penny if Blair hadn't pushed him and all the othe members of the G8.

It has always been an issue Blair supports, and aid has always been on the agenda.

I left the UK last year. For many reasons but the way Blair runs the UK is definitely one of them. The man's a smarmy, cheesy face ****.

Dusk - Where did you go? Are things better there? It was a pretty bold move for you to move out of your country. Good for you!

We wanted to move anyway. Why be tied to one country forever? There were many other reasons too. In the UK there's a lot of things happening that I'm not really that happy with. I have 2 young kids and I want them to live somewhere that gives them a future. There is so much crime in the UK. I used to live in Nottingham and now I probably wouldn't dare go out there at night.

We live in Portugal now, in the Algarve. Its beautiful and its warm. In fact its about 36 degrees in the day time at the moment. The crime is loads less and what crime there is is mostly theft. There is almost no crime against the person. There are so many reasons we wanted to leave the UK and after careful consideration and 2 years of planning we moved to Portugal.

And if anyone wants to check out Portugal I have friends, I can get cheap accommodation ;) come and visit us!

    Sorry to go off topic!

What an adventure it must have been to make such a big move! I thought Nottingham was a good area. I live in the U.S. and friends of ours are from Nottingham. Come to think of it, they moved to the U.S. 20 years ago - I suppose a whole lot can change in 20 years. They still have their charming English accent!

I only left Nottingham about 6 years ago. Since then the violent and gun related crimes have soared. So has drink related crimes and problems. The UK is gong down the pan though and I think a lot of it has to do with Blair, lack of discipline with the youngsters and the fact that everyone has to be so PC now.

Personally I couldn't wait to get out.

Oh gimme a break. Life's a shit-load better than it was under Thatcher. Blair's a **** for a variety of reasons, but you can hardly accuse him of dragging Britain down the toilet.

And if you don't like Blair, what alternative is there? Conservatives would be so much worse than Blair, no matter how bad you think he is. And voting for Lib Dem's would just take votes from Labour which would lead to a conservative government anyway,

When one reaches enlightenment and realises they're all a pile of shite, one will get off of the crapper and stop waisting time voting. Eventually this personal habit wil spread and become a social one.;)

But if you don't vote for Labour, and Conservatives get in, well, you just expand the pile of shite.

Really? Well considering the majority of the population dont even vote....I think you aren't making sense.:p

It's all a crock of shit and as the old adage says

'If voting changed anything they'd make it illegall' !

I am making sense (in my head anyway lol)

Basically, of those who do vote, the ones who previously voted Labour will be unhappy with the way he country is run, therefore they look at alternative parties. No labour voter with a mind is going to look at conservatives and say "yep, they are better". Most probably they decide not to vote.

However, with the people who vote conservative, they believe this is a better alternative, and aren't going to learn otherwise, until they get in government and drag the country down more.

Therefore, if people don't vote Labour, the Conservatives are likely to get in. Now I dislike all parties, but if I had to choose between Labour and Conservative, it's Labour hands down.

    I-dislike-US-foreign-policy-and-many-US-corporations.

    I-don't-hold-that-against-Americans-individually...that-would-be-pretty-sad.

    Almost-as-sad-as-trying-to-stir-up-an-"Us-and-Them"-mentality-on-this-thread...and-suggesting-the-UK-envy-the-US:)
