Steven Segal is mine. He mightn't be the best actor but he is an amazing fighter. The hand to hand combat scenes are better than most.

bruce lee is amazing, those scenes in any movie where he stops and flexes, you see muscles pop out of all these crazy places, its insane. Sonny Chiba is my second favorite.

Kill Bill blew my mind. Pai Mei is one of the best characters ever.

But Enter the Dragon is my favourite.

    I love Pai Mei!

Actually he was based on a character in an old Shaolin temple movie. And Gordan Lui (who plays Pei Mei in Kill Bill vol.2), actually fought the character

aye am going with Jackie Chan mainly because of his balancing tricks and wonderfull lack of sense/fear in the stunts on some of his earlier films :)

    Steven Segal is an asshole.

I trained with his former bodyguard who told us the following story -

He had opened a restaurant, and had a dinner the night before the public opening for the investors in the project, a meet and greet, thanks for the cash, yeah you can have my autograph kind of deal.

One of the guys who was there was a Chinese guy who was really into Segal, who had sold his other investments to sink almost every cent into the place, and had actually DRIVEN across America and slept in his car to attend the event.

Segal smiled at him, and the moment the guy was out of earshot turned to the bodyguard and said "Remind me to buy the Chink out tomorrow." Unbeknownst to him, the bodyguard in question was half-Chinese, took exception to his asshole attitude and quit on the spot, asking him if he wanted to take it outside. (For reference, yes Segal knows Aikido - but I trained with the bodyguard and trust me it would have been NO CONTEST)

Apparently before then he'd put up with Segal going into a Johnny Goombah bada boom bada bing heyyyyy Guido phase after playing a New York Italian American - and some other trip in which he believed himself to be an honorary Eskimo. Said he later saw the dude in fullblown Tibetan attire bowing with a couple of Tibetan monks in some LA eatery. Nuttier than a squirrel turd.

LoL, has anyone seen MAD TV when Will Sasso makes fun of Segal? Almost as good as his Will Rogers parody :)

I have a soft spot for Jackie, cause he seems like such a swell guy. But Jet Li is pretty damn impressive himself.

What about Chuck Norris? :) lol

    Trickster,

I actually have five favorites who collectively call themselves "The Venom Gang"

Besides the movie Five Deadly Venoms, Chiang Sheng, Lu Feng, Sun Shein, Lo Meng, & Kuo Chui, went on to make several other classic martial arts movies like Flag of Iron, Killer Army, Two Champions of Shaolin, The Unbeatable Dragon, Ten Tigers from Kwangtung, The Kid With the Golden Arm, and several others :)

Haha, that's exactly what I thought of....Will Sasso imitating Segal. So hilarious, but it's completely ruined any image I had of Segal.

Chuck Norris is awesome as Walker Texas Ranger...it's just funny to watch, even though I haven't seen it in a long time. Anyways,I guess Chan would be my favorite because I've actually seen a few of his movies, but I'm not a big fan of martial art flicks usually.

    Wonder Girl,

While I'm more or less a fan of Classic Martial Arts, some of Chuck Norris's early work is pretty good like the movie The Octagon, or his portrayal of the legendary renegade Texas Ranger J.J. McQuade in Lone Wolf McQuade :)

    StillBlind,

I don't know Jet Li was still pretty good in Hero (2002), and some of his earlier work like the movie Cult Master is still an all-time classic.

I thought Jean Claude van Dam was wicked in kickboxer. Tong Po was obviously better though ;p
