Someone told me today that you can power any diesel engine car made after 1996 with vegitable oil. Is this really true? Did Woody Harrelson really drive a bus fueled by vegitable oil from the west coast to the east coast. Or is some guy just shittin' me. I have to know. peace
NAMASTE Yes you can and hereis a link that gets more into it. http://greasel.com/ Let me know what you think.
NAMASTE I have a friend who did the same.Would be nice to see more cars and trucks run on fuels made from plant oils.Starts with a just a few and who know that might be the start to a great thing.
Joshua Tickell wrote a book "From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank," which goes into detail regarding bio-diesel. I highly recommend this book as well as his website http://www.joshuatickell.com.
It definitely works, but rather with older cars than ones built after 96, cause the newer cars have high precision injection systems which can't handle the oil... In a German car magazine, there had been a series of articles in which one of the magazine's crew ran a VW Golf (1986) with vegitable oil over 2 years, and every week he wrote a short article... it runs quit good if you leave the engine like it is, but with some effort and some clever ideas this guy had a vegitable oil car which ran as good as with normal diesel. There's a whole community of several thousand persons/cars which deal with this topic
Here's the real kicker... the deisel engine was invented to run on vegetable oil!!! Hows that for supressed information? New deisel cars can run on veg oil but it has to be mixed with some basic chemicals which I am unable to list here and now. There are at least two gas stations (vegs and san fran) that are selling recycled fast food oil (pre mixed with these chemicals). The price is about half that of deisel fuel.
yes, you can. in my country they already have a national plan, since we had a gasoline crisis(prices are too high)people are looking for options that are cheeper and enviroment-friendly.
