Best band of the 80's? No way in my opinion, but each to his own... that for me goes for U2's work in that decade
Well I don't know... if you're looking for kings of the alt music scene in the 80s you may find some strong opposition from R.E.M... many people would claim either The Smiths or The Stone Rosesas the best band from that era... or, from a different musical perspective, you've also got the likes of New Order... or the gothtasticlikes of The Cure... so you've got lots of possible contenders... however, Road To Nowhere remains one of my fave singles from the 80s... Fly...
Since the days of my mother singing me 'Once in a lifetime' with myself in my crib, I grew up loving the Talking Heads. My favourite song would have to be 'This must be the place' (Naive Melody), what a lovely song. Although I do quite like the more funkier arrangements of 'Big Business' from the 83' tour. Thats quite lovely too.
Fear of Music is probably my favourtie album of all time, especially like Cities, Life During Wartime, and Drugs. Brilliant stuff.Remain in Light is also a great album.
