Are there any dj's in here? i play a few different instruments and i want to get some dex now. i know a few people who scratch but any feedback would be cool about what to start out with and all that.
The only thing i can tell you is that for scratchin you need direct drive turntables. What ever you do dont get belt drivin because that wont last no time.
Get Technics Sl-1200 turntables. THey're like fucking tanks. You could piss on them, spill soda on them, and drop them out of a ten-story window onto a crowded street, and they'd still work like fucking brand new. They're the industry standard.
says it all right there. the mk1200's are the standard. as long as you keep in mind the possibilities/execution possible with the cdj decks (ie: final scratch)... but for plain old turntablism, the 1200's or the 1210's are what you want. I've personally seen them go from half submerged in water in the back of a pickup truck to the main stage and function, and dropped one from a patio (it's not a ten foot story building but still) onto concrete and those decks just don't care. accept nothing less.
