O.K.,.I'm a new grower. First try and all. I planted a couple in my upstairs porch. Lots of sun and ventillation. Got one out of five to bud, so I moved it away from the males to the other end of the porch..{about 10 feet away} and put her in a larger pot. So after about a week, the buds start to change and form little pod looking flower buds...then the whole bud changes to them and start bursting open with tons of pollen...What just happened,..and what did I do wrong.? Anouther female just emerged from the bunch and I want her to continue to bud. Please help.!
Sounds like you might have a hermaphrodite--a plant that has both male and female parts. It can occur naturally or because of stress (like poss. moving it to a new location). The second you see balls (pollen sacs) forming you should get rid of it. Pollen will seed your buds and you'll have less pot to smoke. Make sure no light is shining on your plants at night. It sounds to me like poss. the new loction gets light at night from maybe a window/street/porch light. Getting light at night can stress a plant.
Ahhh, I think you might be right. I called my buddy and he said hermaphrodite too,..also I think there is a street light that reaches that window. Didn't think that made a difference.Good to know! Thanks for your help.
