    Yellow
    Do you remember,
    nights we sat outside
on a board stretched between two buckets.
Our feet frozen in the snow,
    our faces hot and red,
silently staring into the crackling fire,
spitting sparks into the starless sky.
    Laughing until we fell backwards,
and you hit your head on the ice.
Telling each other the sort of things
that feel a little to naked in the daylight.
    Until our heads started dropping,
and the cold set into our bones.
Until the fire died to a few lonely flames,
    flickering out from red embers.
    You do? I was wondering
if you had forgotten, because I thought
if you remembered, it would be different.
I would still see something familiar
in your face, you would still be
    my smiling, laughing, laid back,
not a care in the world boy.

Wow, what great imagery! (I'm a big fan of that!) This was sad, yet touching because I can relate. I'm looking forward to reading more from you. Welcome to the forums!

    Peace,
