moldy potted plants

    hey my plants are dying and there is mold on the pots. will repotting them help at all or are they pretty much hopeless?

    They're probably toast. It happens with potted plants. There isn't enough soil to maintain a balanced ecosystem. So things take over that normaly wouldn't. A lot of people use sterile potting soil, although this is expensive. What I do is add compost to the pot every once in a while, to give it a new shot of balanced microbes. It's worked for me so far.

    be carful that your not over watering and the soil is loose and well draining. and you can sterilize soil by putting it in a pan and putting it in the oven to kill anything. i havent personally done this but have heard of it just my $.02
