What is happening in New Orleans is horrible and my sympathy goes out to all those who have been killed, injued, lost their homes and their pets over the last few days, but I have a massive problem with this. Hurricane Katrina is all over the news in Australia and the UK and it pisses me off. If a hurricane hit any third world country and 1000 people died (I don't mean to devalue human life, but it isn't a massive amount of people) I doubt anybody woud give a flying fuck, let alone notice that it had happened. It may get a few paragraphs on the tenth page of your newspaper. So fucking what? They were uncivilised. They spoke a a different language. I can't relate to them. Another recent example of this is recent events in London. The London bombings were an horrific act of terrorism where 54 innocent people were slaughtered, and garnered MASSIVE media coverage in the 1st world. The day after, 60 people were killed by a suicide bomber in Baghdad, which recieved less than 30 seconds coverage on my local news. What the fuck? These were HUMANS for God's sake! What is going on!? How do YOU feel about this? Are you OUTRAGED?!?! And what was my original point?!!!???!???

i got no problem with looting the following items: food, water, clothing, shoes, blankets, pillows and other things essential to daily life that may have been washed away by the flood or left behind in the rush to get the hell out.

Oh come on, put in that situation, looting is understandable... what we all need is compassion for these beings suffering, they bought the ticket for the earth trip, and we all got to go through some shit. I wish you all the least amount of shit. Because new orleans is dealing with some heavy shit.

I felt the same way about september eleventh. Looking at those pictures makes me almost wanna cry... but where are the pictures of the tens of thousands of kids from all over the world that die of starvation every day... while at the same time billions are being spent to provide a small population rescue.

I'm not saying that these people dont deserve to be rescued. But priorities need to be set in place... theres alot of money to go around.

I did cry....I always try to put myself in other people shoes...the questions is what are you doing about it....actions speak louder than words....have you donated anything to the relief fund....every little bit helps....and yes I have donated.

    Hell no.
911 was far more worst because it was unexpected and deliberate. A attack by other humanbeings wanting to hurt other humanbeings
And that Hurricane was predicted. And Nature disasters like this do happen occasionelly. You can't blaim nature for being nature. Or wind for being wind.
