    Hey partners in crime.

Im goin to a concert in Sydney next month and am plannin to go HARD on the bikkies and have an awesome night, but am a bit worried. I've wanted to see this band for years so i'll be super psyched, but do you reckon that 2 hours in the mosh pit while rolling is safe? I've rolled a fair few times before mostly at clubs and parties but nothin too hardcore though. I've never had any problems before but I can see it gettin out of hand. Please share your experiences have you ever rolled in this situation?!?

    Thanks fuckers x

That would definitely be a bad idea; a moshing/slamdancing is typically a bit more strenuous than just dancing...if you plan on moshing or slamdancing at the show, I'd recommend acid or mushrooms instead. :p

I recommend going to see a jamband and eating many hits of LSD instead. :H

I don't really do any other drugs other than weed and speed, but fuck yeah i thought rollin at a big concert was a bad idea. maybe i can just get uproariously drunk haha. thanks 4 your help guys but I still wanna hear some experiences from people who have actually been in this situation. I mean, the music and atmosphere of a big live show would be INCREDIBLE while rolling, especially if it is one of your favourite bands. But yeah double edged sword i guess could get into trouble eh? And as for favourite things while rolling? Inverted rollercoaster during a fireworks display at movie world in queensland. I could have died and gone to heaven right there.

I was at warped tour and I was in the mosh pit when I was on speed. It was pretty fun, but you get worn out really fast. I had to leave after 2 songs, because it was just too much work.

if youve been waiting that long to see them then i would go sober. you dont want to start hugging ond massaging your fellow moshers as they proceede to beat the piss out of you. even drinking might not be a good idea, because if your excited you might over drink and end up too sick or drunk to hear the music. to each his own though, you want to have a good time . .. . i would have to go with dueces and peacelove on this one, go see a jamband, eat some mushrooms.

save the e's for afterwards....you can run round and have a grand old time then head home and get all mushy about it!!!

    :)

but then again I have gone to some huge gigs on and I think it depends on the music...however mosh pit doesn't sound quite right!!

I wouldnt go in the mosh pit. I'd just chill in the back away from the chaos with the women and a fatty.

I rolled in the mosh pit at Primus and it was a blast! Drink lots of water if your moshing though its strenuous. But I like the jamband..roll..or...trip....or......candyflip idea the best.

Man there are few better sensations than music and acid !!! I agree with the jam band idea too bad Phish is no longer among us right ??

Phish wasn't the only good jamband. There are lots of bands that play that are fun to see tripping.

Depends what style of jamband you're into. GD and Phish pretty much destroy all 'traditional' jam bands. But, as we all know, neither of them are touring... tis a sad time. If you like that Southern Rock/Blues sound check out the allman brothers band (you may have already they're pretty dam popular) and gov't mule (warren haynes' band). If you're into a funkier sound, check out Galactic (suuuuuuuuuper nasty voodoo funk in the na'leans style, sort of like the meters), Soulive (jesus they funk so hard, probably my favorite band touring right now... if you haven't heard them listen NOW http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?collection=etree&mode=mp3&cat=Soulive I am a big fan of 2001 and 02, but their newer shit with the new horn members is fucking amazing, you should really download a few shows to see what they're all about.), Karl D's Tiny Universe, and some MMW is funky, really funky, but sometimes they're real experimental too. Some MMW to check out is the album shack man, friday afternoon in the universe, and their newest effort, end of the world party is my favorite studio. A good live recording to look for from them is i think 8-7-04 in telluride, co. It's only one disc but it's a sick sick show. Widespread Panic is pretty good, but sometimes they have too much of a poppy sound. String Cheese Incident is really good, they play a lot of bluegrass style stuff.

My brother got me free tickets to Garbage concert in Syd, the week before my other concert, so maybe I will have a few eggs there and see how I go. Not a massive garbage fan, but should be a good night!! I've been trying to get into their music for the last few days and they have some ok shit. WHOOP!

I wouldnt reccomend it, I went to a concert on ecstasy and ended up being over heated, having the bottom half of my vision randomnly fade out, paced in the bathroom to keep concious, and then had to leave. Pretty horrible, keep the e out of the mosh pit =)

i wouldnt mind goin to a real chill show on beans but i dont know about all this moshing... True, I almost always want to be active while Im rolling. Dont like just sittin round (although sometimes I do). But seriously, moshing is just one of those things that I would totally not wanna do while rolling. Save the X for some other time...or as a couple ppl have said, AFTER the show. Then you will have an even longer nite of fun. Cuz I garuntee all that moshing on beans would have u tired out n it would prob ruin ur whole rolling experience a bit (or a lot). But, if u do end up doin it anyway, just remember to bring a water bottle out there. Wouldnt want ya dehydratin n dyin out in the mosh pit :p
