    New Orleans Hurricane

The blues have never been sadder in New Orleans,
The drummer plays harder than he ever has,
Because the storm has never hit stronger.
The guitar player makes the guitar scream,
Because the storm ripped open the land,
The bass player plays down deep low,
Because the storm ripped open the land,
The keyboard player plays in a new intensity,
    Because the storm left aftermath
The trumpet player plays a warning
Because the storm was bound to hit
    The saxophone player holds notes,
Because the storm left the question of time,
The harmonica player tries to comfort
Because the storm stole away home
The blues singer cries out loud,
    Because mother is drowning
But let the music still play,
    Play over the water,
    Because with music New Orleans
    Will stay New Orleans
