He seriously thinks that everything happening on this rock is Gods direct intention? Thats called blasphemy.
Uhhh, dude. You're a silly goose. That's not what I said. What, you've got sex on the brain, or something? I said that something can't come from nothing, and the closest thing in reality we have to creating something from nothing is the miracle of birth. The point? Everything has a point of origin. Even amoebas, which reproduce asexually, have an origin. Another amoeba. A better example is, a watch. The watch didn't exist forever, did it? It had to be made. The Watchmaker is the point of origin. Do you understand what I was trying to say a bit better now?
but why did it have to come from somewhere? how do you know (for sure) that the basic elements that make up the universe....haven't simply existed forever?
I do, But I am not convinced, of YOUR Theory or of MINE. I wasn't there. Matter cannot be created nor destroyed = Reality has always existed? Kharakov, Questioning authority is questioning God. God is authority because God controls authority. To question authority is to question God's plan which is at the same time God's plan?
Because every time I give you an answer you come up with another question. It's never ending with you kids!!!! God, why did you make the sun? To evaporate water from the oceans, provide light for you to see, feed plants, etc. God, why do you evaporate water from the oceans? To make clouds. God, how do you make clouds? Well, you see, I cause the water to condense in the atmosphere... God, what is the atmosphere? Well, it's a bunch of gases, dust particles, etc... Why did you make the atmosphere? So you can breath. Why do I breath? So you can live. Why do I live? So you can enjoy stuff that I do. Why do I enjoy stuff that I do? Because I make you. Why do you make me? Because I want to. Why do you want to? Because I felt like it. Why do you feel like it? Because I enjoy it. Why do I enjoy it? Because I love you...............................................................
Yeah. Umm. I was joking. Maybe you couldn't tell from my statement "Accept everything as the absolute truth...".
No one can know for sure, hun. I'm not ignorant enough to say that... But watching the natural world as it is, it makes more sense to me that it would. Nothing lasts forever. Even the stars die and are born. Scientists tell us that they think our universe is still in the process of expanding. Expanding from what? A "big bang" perhaps? But who put the materials for that "big bang" there? You see?
Maybe. I guess I would be more convinced if I could find something that occurs naturally that doesn't begin somewhere, and have a connection to something else for its beginnings. *shrugs* Like that whole "spontaneous generation" theory... If that had been proven to be true, I'd prolly be more likely to think otherwise...
that's the difference i guess, your ideas require beginnings.....mine don't do you not think you'd be definitely thinking otherwise if it were proven?
Ever heard of the rich man and Lazerus? Lazarus went to Paradis and the rich man to hell. And Jesus said to that one guy on the cross: " Today, I will see you in paradise." So we know there *was* a paradise. And there are other records using Heaven and 'sheol' ( or hell.). And sorry, the Bible says that Jesus was no an angel.
I was told that Jesus was just telling a story and so he was just using somthing that the pepole could understand.I look into that a bit more. Hmmm in my bible it says that Jesus said "...I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise." I myself am not to clear on that Jesus is angle thing..... I will look into that...
I thought you were a JW? Yes, that's what Jesus said BTW. Same meaning. JW's usually have that belief...or was it christian 'science'
I am a JW So the hell was just an exmple and metafore for death. You see. No it means that the paradise has not happend yet. Yes we do belave that Jesus is an angel. like I said I will look into that more. All of our belifs are scirptual so I'm sure were right but I better check anyway.
