I have some friends that went to Lawrence, Kansas this summer to "walkarooza" and they tell me it was one of the most amazing things they've ever experienced. Psychedelics and things everywhere. Can someone tell me a little about it?

    P.S.

They also told me the people who participate in the Psychedelics and stuff go to other cities, what other cities do they visit? I'd like to join this little group.

WAKARUSA was a kick ass event in Kansas, that was 4 days long and 80 plus bands.....the best shows were SCI and Galactic....but i got to see alot of new bands i'd never heard of [Hairy Ape VMX, Lotus....etc] and, i got to see shows of bands i've always wanted to check out [Jazz Mandolin Project, Mofro...etc]...a beautiful event, i plan on checking it out next year if the line up still kicks ass.....

People don't go to shows to do just, psychedelics. People go for the MUSIC if your planning on joining this group just to do psychedelics perhaps you should look somewhere else. Many people go to these as a vacation, a way to catch a bunch of great shows all at once.

I think he means peeps in the psychedelics forum go to other cities which is either Rainbow family (see the board on it) or the Mind States confrence which is aimed at eggheads.

Well, it's not like I'm not going to enjoy the music too, I would just like to take a psychedelic vacation, see what kind of work those guys do, and see I if I can land a good job.

P.S. I was really mad because my friend said the String Cheese Incident played this year, and Would have loved to see them.

I had a freakin' blast at Wakarusa. I saw lotsa great bands, enjoyed lotsa party favors and meet some Hipforums folks. I ended up hanging out with Personface and PeaceluvinhippieTaz most of the time.

Rage you should come check out Schwagstock. This really kick ass Grateful Dead tribute band called The Schwag put on these campout concert series at their beautiful summer camp named Camp Zoe. see www.theschwag.com
    for more info.

I go to festies for the music, the party favors are just a side benefit....

man, the diesel will stink up a house for DAYS! A snob buddy of mine came by and I relented and let him light up in the basement (cold and rainy last winter) and I kept smelling his three puffs for at least five days.
and the Schwag freaking rocks! I played with them once. FireHouse in Norman, Okla, March 31, 2001. check their encore: I'd be the misspelled "Robin."

They still are an amazing band... They packed the place at Wakarusa despite the fact they got stuck playing at 11 am on Sunday morning.
