Chasing the shadows on a warm summer eve
Flitting in and out of the depths of emotion
A solo disturbance on the ripples of time
That seems irrelevant in everything but an absent smile
Breeze whispers sweet nothings on deafened ears
Phantom romance awaiting a song of pain
Trying to piece together all the memories
As a teardrop forms to greet dismay

Challenges of life occasionally brought great joy
Catalogues of photos mark the bygone days
Every raindrop that falls is a weeping reminder
Each frost-bitten morning a symbol of the future
For nothing can compensate the emptiness inside
    Willowing soul and eroding pride
Temperant delinquent nomad of the past
At journeys end to flow no more

The fool that took for granted the halcyon sunshine gaze
Pays the price of folly in the crumbling shreds of dark
But as the questions are ultimately asked
There is no use trying to explain
Forever cast in the role of villain
    Only one left to blame
Cradling the alcoholic path to oblivion
In a smoke-filled bar that has no name

such a sad piece. but lovely. To be honest, I had to read it twice before I got it, but it was great.:)

Cheers Musikero. I have to admit that I do often write cryptically and have a liking for inverting the emaning of words !!
