I think it's a pretty under rated and forgotten Who album... Some great Who songs on there like, "However Much I Booze", "Squeeze Box" & "Dreaming From The Waist" ...

totally agree....very much under rated....and an absolutly cracking album by a group at the height of their power :) Maybe not the best Who album...but a must for anyone who enjoys their later work.

I never used to like The Who By Numbers, but now I prefer it over Quadrophenia.

Blasphemy! :) Quadrophenia is the ultimate teenage angst album.

As far as The Who By Numbers goes, it's definitely not one of my favorites. Give me The Who Sell Out any day.

I listened to the whole album and the song i like the most is "How Many Friends". I am a collector of Who albums. I also own "Who's Next" (1971) and "Who Are You?" (1978). I would like to hear "Quadrophenia" and "Tommy" but they are more expensive. I have a feeling that "Quadrophenia" is the best. but from what I own, "Who's Next" is the best.

Who Next Rocks as well as the undigitally enhanced original Live at Leeds.
Sorry Who by Numbers and Who's Next, Who Last, Face Dances I think they are Pretty Lame and was a mistake for a band so good to carry on.
Tommy is too clean and Quadraophenia has some good songs like 5.15, Belboy but is not brilliant although the Film is.
My Generaton is pretty good but a bit 60 beatish but it does contain the amazing Ox.

Used to see Pete Townsend walk his dog in Twickenham.

I really like the song "My Wife" from Who's Next.
