Who are some of yours and explain why

Tina Weyland - not because she's a girl, but because she was the backbone of a very revolutionary band

Jaco Pastorius - from his work with weather report to his solo music, just phenomenal, too be bad he was an ego maniac, perhaps part of the reason he was stabbed to death

David Schools - Not the most technically amazing player, but he is a one man wrecking crew for a rythm section as monsterous a player as he is a man

Les Claypool - you may not care for his music, but anyone who's seen him perform especially whamola on the banjo bass would agree he is as revolutionary with the instrument as any person who's ever played

I could go on about many more whom I love, but I'd rather read about some favorites of everyone else

    Jaco Pastorius
    Tina Weymouth
    Holger Czukay

I've yet to hear Jaco, though I really want too (as I'm learning bass), I've heard he's remarkable.

Les Claypool is definitely up there, best slapper since Larry Graham.
    John Entwhistle
    Aston "Familyman" Barrett (Marley)
    Jack Cassady (Jefferson Airplane)
    Paul McCartney
