Oh Oh, look out...here it comes. Today Rumspheld held a news conference and whenever questioned about the failures of F.E.M.A he would respond "Let's not get into the blamegame right now". Bush's mom and dad where on Larry King last night and whenever a question came up about the failures of our president they would respond with "Let's not get into the blamegame right now". At a press conference this morning when Bush was askes if there was going to be an investigation into the failures of New Orleans he responded "Let's not get into the blamegame right now". So I guess this will be the broken record we'll be hearing until Bush and his coherts can cook up a record breaking lie to cover up their incompetence....and trust me they certainly have a record of cooking up lies. Try as they may, my money says they'll play hell trying to lie their way out of this one, but I'm sure they'll give it their best shot. And oh by the way mr. president..this isn’t about blame, it’s about accountability, remember, the very issue that you beat into the dirt during your campaign for reelection
well, to be honest, i thin kthe bbc has it stated the best. it was a systemic failure, from teh bottom tothe top. i'm really glad they're getting an investigative commission together, but i hope they're all actuall honest and reasonable about it, instead of defensive and looking for any one scapegoat, considering SO MANY PEOPLE completely fucked up. here's the bbc article i was reading. sometimes a more outside source helps... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4216508.stm
With Bush claiming the lead of such an "investigation" himself, please! Can anyone say "yet another diversionary whitewash"?
Well, we never knew the truth about 9-11 ubtil there was an "independent" investigation. The Bush regime pulled the same shit back then..their investigation found no wrong with "his" administration.
There hasnt been any truly "independent" investigation of this administration to date. Not with regard to 911 least of all. That one was nothing more than a handpicked whitewash committee with a purposely limited scope of enquiry and no teeth to force full disclosure from the likely architects behind that pivotal event. Don't expect anything more this late in their tenure.
Yeah, Bush and co. don't want a "Blame Game" because it is obvious where the blame lies. Dennis Hastert (who, regretably, is from MY state, and we ran such a good campaign to get rid of him, at least we went for Gore) was blaming CLINTON for 9/11 within HOURS of the Attack. But, when something is OBVIOUSLY a Bush's fault, it's all "Oh, we got a lot of work to do, let's not play the Blame Game." If there is any justice, this WILL catch up with Dubya and his cronies. KC, baby, I agree with you about 98% of the time, but Clinton is not a Republican. I think he's just teamed up with Daddy Bush to show that the support isn't from one side of the aisle or the other. (Bill looked like hell yesterday at the press conference, didn't he? I wonder if he is sick again.)
actually, i was referring to hillary. i was reading an article about hillary calling for an investigation into the monumental systemic fuck up, but i forgot she's been getting cozy with the hawks.
'Everybody sucks' from [some] residents not bothering to shift there ass to the goverment 'possibly dropping the ball' ?.. wow your a harsh young person. "Let's not get into the blamegame right now" Should be 'let the situation become calm, what is the point of pointing the finger just over a week after the event'... thats a bit of a mouth full though.
i heard on one of the news shows that a gallup poll is showing that only 13% of americans polled blame bush. i'm trying to find the full results, but i can't. it's supposed to be a cnn/usa today poll, but i've checked both their sites and found nothing.
Asked who was MOST responsible for the post-hurricane problems, 13% picked Bush, 18% said federal agencies, 25% selected state/local officials and 38% said no one was to blame. http://www.mediainfo.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001055733 http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/11888 http://abcnews.go.com/US/HurricaneKatrina/story?id=1094262&page=1&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312 http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=poll+bush+blame+katrina&meta=
people (especially non-americans) have to understand that in the US "the government" is seen as this faceless entity which is somehow separate and independent from Bush. Thus Bush can blame "the government" as if he were not part of it.
True, and ironic how the NO mayor can go on TV, demand "the government" come in and fix everything right away, and that's considered "leadership".
doesn't that tick you off? i will give him the benefit of the doubt and call it the heat of the moment, but he totally slacked off in his own job.
