The eternal argument. Which was the best Beatles album of all time? For my money, Sgt Peppers is very slightly overrated, especially when compared to The White Album. In fairness The White Album was a record by John.Paul.George. and sometimes Ringo, whereas Sgt Peppers was by the Beatles, but I think that's what gives it it's edge. Of course, maybe I shouldn't discount Revolver though...
An observation made by George Martin of the White Album is that it was too long. Should not have been a double but rather two separate single albums. I kind of wonder what would be the best way to split them up.
The Beatles has some crap on it.. more than any other album except Abbey Road. Why Dont We Do It In The Road, Birthday, Everybody's Got Something To Hide..., Wild Honey Pie, and in my opinion Glass Onion. But then it also has Dont Pass Me By, Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Back in the USSR, The Continuing Story..., While My Guitar..., Happiness is a Warm Gun, I'm So Tired, Honei Pie, Cry Baby Cry, and uh... many others I say its a tie between Revolver and The Beatles.
I'm more of an early Beatles kind of gal upto about Help.. But saying that my favorite album is Abbey road!!..
I wonder if a persons favourite Beatles album corrolates to their favourite Beatle... John was my favourite. Of course.
I personally love Rubber soul but out of what you've asked us to choose from how can you possibly choose each have their complete blinders! The Beatles does have Blackbird on it and While my Guitar Gently Weeps which sorta puts it a tad in the front of the rest
Not to discount any of their other albums.....I grew up on the Beatles and still love them today... Personnally, I'd have to go for Sgt Peppers....simply because it was so groundbreaking and laid the way for their later work, not to mention helping so many musicians of the time to experiment.....it killed the "pop hit single" approach to the recording industry, bringing the "album" to the fore....plus, it's just fucking beautiful
Apart from "When I'm 64". That song sucks. I commend them for trying something different. But it still makes me cringe. We were forced to sing it in assembly all the time at primary school, so maybe that's why I hate it. Or possibly it's just Paul's influence at it's worst.
I used to love the beatles once upon a time..but lately they dont do much for me..not sure what it is but im really not a big fan anymore
I too often go through periods where I'm "off" the Beatles. It's strange. I go off lots of bands as time passes, but the Beatles are one of the only ones that I always end up returning to. Sometimes Via Johns solo stuff, sometimes for inspiration for my own music, sometimes just because there is no other song quite like I am the Walrus.
im a HUGE beatles fan. . . i love all of their stuff but for some reason i love sgt peppers. . . my mom gave me the movie for christmas this past year because i had never seen it and it was amazing. . it would've been better if it was actually the beatles in it but frampton and the bee gees do it justice. . . . . . . the beatles were musical genious'
heelo, I am new just having a browse around, I would say that with the beatles it is almost impossible to choose a favourite album, they are all works genius!!
