I go for Dust in The Wind by Kansas. There's this commercial for Muslix or some kind of crappy cereal whatev and there are these two stupid brats singing it while their parents are eating the cereal. I cringe every time I hear it come on. Also, the tune of Savoy Truffle by The Beatles is used in a deoderant commercial. It isn't that bad, because you don't hear the lyrics, but i have extreme prejudice towards any commercial with Beatles songs in them.
What I don't get about this one commercial is that the Cadillac motto is "Break on Through" yet they use Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog"...wtf? They apparently couldn't get the rights for the Doors song... I also hate that gatorade commerical that has that Nazareth ( I think) song, "Love Hurts"....blah...
But Caddy's aren't shitty cars. The worst use of a song has to be the old wrangler jeans commerical that plays CCR.
Kansas were never good anyway. But I'll nominate those picture commercials that straight ruined a decent Kinks song.
man what commercial has zeppelins black dog in it? Thats now 2 zep songs, Rock and Roll is in the Caddy commercial.
I think its an insurance company that uses "Come Together" I remember about a year ago or so Burger King or McDonalds had "Strawberry Fields Forever"
pepsi ruined No Rain for me forever...... and I think I heard Faith No More doing a Lionel Richie song on a commercial. FNM did an awesome job on the song, but it didn't fit anything at all.
savoy truffle on a commercial?? I never heard of this..... Im getting sick of all these who songs being used for commercials...... I think the worst one was happy jack used for hummers...
mellisa by the allman bros layla i fucking hate it when that happens. now whenever i hear the first 7 notes of layla all i think of is that goddamn commercial. eric clapton, what a sellout
As long as they don't use any "Doors" Songs we can endure the other sell outs. Peace The Wiz and Rider On The Storm
that beer commercial that uses ''mountain song'' by janes addiction wtf? and that cruise commercial that uses ''lust for life''
it's better than having a song with a commericial video that doesn't fit the song meaning and feeling. it's very shallow and out of taste to have a classic ruined on the television.
