Approx. how old should a plant that is about 2.5-3" tall be. If i were to guess the plant is about 2-3 weeks old...is it basically a lost cause, or is there hope of it producing a little bud?
if you started from seed, then that would be slightly small for that age, but definately not a write-off
Any size plant will bud. What you get from it depends on size and health, but you may get anything from a single popcorn to a chicken nugget at that height.
Wrong. If you try to bud a plant that hasn't built up enough strength to do so, it will keel over and die. WP, if your plant is only growing an inch a week, something is wrong.
OK. Let me rephrase that. Through experimentation and having various strains and quality of seed on the go, I've had what you'd call a seedling (being about 2.5 inches high) produce a pop corn bud. So in my enviroment I'm correct. Of the growers I'm involved with we all agree with this outcome. Of course a seedling can't hold what you'd consider a bud as it hasn't enough strength, but through the transition from veg to flower (and in incorrectly seasoned plants as an example) the transition strengthens the stem and hence others also should get a pop corn bud. Unless were talking a true seedling without fully devoped leaf structure. Wrong is probably a strong word without so much as a one liner to correct someone RD.
Bit of a cross explanation from us both RD. Sorry but I'm getting a little frustrated with some sites and no agro was intended. Grow on. And on. GA.
