I was going by what i saw and heard on a BBC news item...i did not exaggerate what i saw, i did not lie about what i heard.

As for me "blaming everyone in america", all i did in my original post was urge people to consider the competency of your president, which needed to be done.

Also, does the fact that i dont live in a place mean i cannot have an opinion about it, its policies, its government's actions? Perhaps someone should have told this to Bush, Blair and the war supporters, who felt they needed to "save" and "liberate" Iraq.

Which most THINKING Americans do, including me. I detest the man, his policies and his decisions and his attitude.

MOST Americans do not support the stupid war in Iraq, many beleive Bush got into office illegally, and he was PLACED there (and I am FAR from a conspiracy theorist) Most would be happy to see him go.

I am sorry if I was hard on you, but I remember after 9/11, the same attitudes from some Europeans, the "you deserved it" thing, along with a LOT of innaccurate data. There were no Americans I know blaming England when the Terrorists struck there last month. (And I also heard, from many Europeans, after 9/11, many of whom seem to think ALL Americans think alike, "It would NEVER happen here. We've done nothing to make those people hate us.") Think about the fact taht most Americans have no more control over Dubya than you Brits do over Blair.

SOrry if I was rough on you. The last thing we need is to be kicked when we are down. I can assure you, NO mamas trying to feed their children will be shot by the National Guard. The only risk to these poor womyn is the men of their own parishes.

P.s- I find it hillarious when people write "WE beat them in the war" or, "WE kicked their asses in 1816"...or whatever. Who the hell is WE!? 99%of the people who spew this crap werent even living when this stuff happened. Its like saying which country youre born in decides which little club or tribe youre a part of....and people in other countries are from different clubs, and so theyre the enemy.

Absolutely ridiculous. What about people who move from country to country throughout their lives, as i plan to do? Which little tribe do they belong to? Which "WE" are they? The whole things laughably pathetic.

I just went back and double checked and just as I remembered it was you that started with the nationalistic generalizations in your early posts in this thread. If you don't like mud don't start slinging it.

 

"britain is the largest island in Europe" ....i just found this quote on a site designed for small children. It appears even they are supposed to be able to grasp this concept.

Also, i have never once in my life referred to British people as "we" the way you described, i assume, American people. As i have never used this pronoun in this manner myself i feel i have the right to criticise those who do.
