I've developed a rather embarrasing medical situation lately. It's akin to a varicose vain in a rather male place, and i'm considering surgery.
Now, after surgery i'm supposed to be given large amounts of pain killers, as this sensitive area is rather sore, i was wondering whether percocet (oxycodone really) or a hydrocodone preperation (vicodan) is more effective and which one is less addictive.
I wanna get rid of the pain but i don't want to get addicted so help a brother out.

well sorry to say this man, but since both are opiates they both have a potential of being rather addicting, so i would just go with whichever one you feel you want, and just have self control over yourself when using them, but if you want my opinion, percocet is pretty strong but so is vicodin, but i would go with percocet, i have so many friends who have been addicted to vicodin so thats just my own opinion, but just be careful whichever one you choose

go with hydrocodone. the 10/500 mg are stronger than perks. however, if your doc is giving you a script i doubt you'll really have much of a say in what you get.

once i went to a doctor to try to score some xan out of the deal and faked anxiety. she actually took out a book full of anxiety meds and their uses and asked me to pick out what i thought would be best for me. so i chose klonopin and had as many refills as i wanted (yeah not a good time for me in hindsight) but can you believe that doc? crazy.

elle you are one lucky mofo u know that? My doc is too influenced by my propaganda-filled parents so the best thing i can get for anxiety is a drug like prozac, paxil, effexor, or nothin else that's really good. My parents think i'm an addict because i was smoking a half-gram of weed a day (1/8 a week). Fuck that you got it so lucky. On the other hand, I am prescribed to 7.5/500 lortab!! I love that shit but i only got like 30 of em left and have no chance of getting anymore.

um no... hydrocodone is not stronger then oxycodone, "perks" have more then one dose they actul have two(maybe three) perks are oxycodone thats not time realease so 10mg of hydrocodone can be stronger them 5mg of oxycodone but not always, but in mg's oxycodone is stronger then hydrocodone, but oxycodone is more psyicaly addictive(ive more storys about people being addicted to oxycotin/percocet then vicodan or lortabs

    IDK I'd ask for OC's.

I would say the percs, mostly because of the APAP in the hydros are bad on your liver even though you wouldnt be taking them long enough to cause damage but still.

Percocets and Vicodins both have acetiminophen or however it's spelled. That's why I said I'd ask for straight OC's.

i have both right now and i do feel the effects of the hydro much more than the perks. ive always felt that hydro was stronger than perks...ive got a tolerance to opiates built up...i have to take a few of the perks to get the same pain relief that one and a half of the 10/500mg hydro does.
