just wondering what you think.... personally ive never done/watched/did that... but almost everyone i know has. is it a coincedence or on purpose?
coincidence... some of the stuff they wrote was just in the studio at the time, one song was even originally for a different film sound track. its just an album with sound effects that happen to link up sometimes..
yeah and i guess if you've ever smoked a bit n watched cartoons with the volume down, turned on some music... it goes well almost all the time. same type of thing i guess.
after the album ended we stuck on some more floyd tracks from the wall and left the film on...they all sync'd
dorothy screaming and great gig in the sky singer (claire tovy (i think) )singing.. or the midgets walking to the 4/4 bit of Money
man, if yer want a really funky coincidence put the dvd of riverdance on, the finale dance at the end.....and play Firestarter by Prodigy, fekkin' amazing
It cant be on purpose. For them to compose an entire album just to fit perfectly with the scenes and emotions in the wizard of oz would be an incredibley hard task. I think its just an incredibly amazing coicidence....or an act of god
its more than "sound effects linking up sometimes". Each song conveys a different emotion with matches perfectly to the scene at hand.
I like at the beginning, when the Tornados appear, and great gig in the sky begins. its amazing. also, the parts in "on the run" when you hear the helicopter going by, and dorthy is looking up at the sky and she looks at something flying by.
more like, if you like pink floyd. If you dont particulary like oz, and dont liek floyd, well youll downright just want to shoot yourself
I also tried syncing "The Passion of the Christ" with "Mass in F minor" by the Electric Prunes... there weren't fabulous co-incidences, but the whole thing worked well thematically.
