So my friend and I went into wal*mart today and saw in the fish section how there were frogs that were in little cups and they were all dead...so I stole the only living one and some food...but I don't know how to take care of it..does anyone know what i should do? Its really small and it's called an african frog...anyone?
um you have a pump to oxygenate the water? You know for bubles. Not that that really matters it is a frog and can breath from the surface but you don't want them to have to, less stress is best. Most people I know feed them "blood worms" which I think is just what they call them I think they are mosquitoe larvae really. From what I"m told they are really easy to raise with a little care. I'm waiting for a while but then I'm going to get one of the larger species that get as big as a mans hand. They are really cool to watch eat they kind just scoop the food in their mouths with their hands. It al ways makes me think of cookie monster the way they eat.
Awesome, thank you so much. Yea I've been watching him eat it's really cute. A big frog sounds really cool too. I want so many little animals though...thanks a bunch
we have some at my high school lab. They are a little smaller than the size of my hand. From what I understand they are fairly easy to take care of, but i dont really know all of the specifics. It is awesome you saved the last frog from wal mart.
Thanks Yea I am cleptomaniac, but man, I just couldn't stand to see them like that...and if anything I mean it's not like some associate is going to come up to me and be like "Did you just pocket that frog?" ya know? If they did I would just be like "What? Now come on wal*mart, I totally support you and your chinese sweat shops"... Dumb fucks...
What an awesome thing for you to do. Of course, I have no clue as to what you should do, but you are bound to have some good coming your way. Keep up the good work man.. http://www.repticzone.com/caresheets/Frogs.html There may be some information there..hope it helps, poor little froggie..
Wow thank you...totally encourage others to save the fish and froggies in wal*mart...they're never fed and are constantly dying. Stealing is a lot easier than you think
My grand daughter raises frogs, she has little frog houses she got at the pet shop. She has riased a family of ten so far and has other frogs that she gets from my house, green tree frogs with yellow spots on their side. I have had two tree frogs living in my kitchen,. One has been with me for 3 years and the other joined us last year. I have tried puting them outside, but they prefer the kitchen it seems. They come out and talk to me when I'm in the kitchen. Chirping their little bark. I have yet to understand what they are singing but I think if I listen close enough I will hear.
Good for you - Made my day to read your story - Free the captives wherever you find them. People who keep frogs in cages until they die would do the same to us if it would make a buck. You did a wonderful thing.
