Just finished sewing on the beaded fringe! I totally love it and since the winters here are laughable, I figure I can wear it all winter in lieu of an actual coat! I might make one for my sister-in-law for Christmas... we'll see. Don't mind the mess behind me... its just art/craft clutter!
Its a magic trick of mine... Houdini taught it to me in a former life... "The Incrediable Vanishing Head trick". hahaha! Thanks though... its super soft and plush.. it's the clothing equivilant of wearing a somewhat fashionable dead Muppet!
too funny! I really like the wrap. It looks terribly cozy. I love winter clothes! I don't have use for them here
don't worry... it wasn't a muppet you knew. I picked him up late one night hitchhicking.... lol... I love texture... I like the nappy plaids, the fuzzy yarns, the silk scarves. If I can wear them all at once, then I am really happy!
Weeeeeeoooooooooooowwwwwwwwww. Thats wicked. Winters in Saskatchewan?! yowch. Makes me like Ontario a whole lot more(what?! )
FBat - Totally! I am used to SK winters where it snows for 8 months and it's -40 for months at a time. Here in Southern Ohio... I spend a lot of time laughing at the weathercasters when they say "it's going to be cold" and then it's -10. hahaha... -10 is almost bathing suit weather back home! thanks everyone... I really love the wrap too!
NEGATIVE FORTY?!?!? Holy mother... It gets to that at night with windchill factors.. but.. wow.. it normally goes to -20C (-5 fahrenheit for all you americans..) here and thats average in the daytime.
the orange is Red Heart Light and Lofty in "Paprika Multi", but I think I might be discontinued. It was on sale, and I had to go to 2 different stores to get enough for the wrap. I added some regular Red Heart brown yarn to it, meaning, I knit with 2 strands, because the orange had these areas that were too pink for my tastes, and the brown enhanced the orange while subtracting from the pinky tones. I also knit it on huge size 17 needles, so combine the big needles with the bulky yarn, the it knitted up really quickly!
