John Lennon said in aorund 1979 or 1980 that the 70's were a drag. It's true, 70's music sounded depressing more or less.
no way, lennon's plastic ono band and harrison's all things must pass were very depressing..... just listen to mother, god, and my mummys dead ,for example on lennon's solo debut..... harrisons is sad too, all things must pass, isnt it a pity, beware of darkness........
ohh I read you wrong....... I thought you were saying at the end of the 70s it was more depressing..... when in fact their music was more upbeat...... I think it was more depressing in the early 70s because they just broke up the beatles, and there was alot of tension there....... plus it was a very depressing time with the war going on..
The music in the early 70's was more depressing, it got more sadder in when the 60's ended because the 70's was a disillusioned, relfective, and very self indulgent decade. Progressive Rock spread also into other genres of 70's music.
